Spay and Neuter Packages & Pricing
Our spay and neuter clinics are only for cats and dogs. We also provide services to feral/TNR cats, barn cats, and rescue animals.
If you have questions regarding the prices listed below, please contact us via email or message us through our Otto widget. We will no longer be offering payment plans due to ongoing issues with missed/ignored payments. Donor funds are occasionally available to help clients in need of assistance, but are not guaranteed. Due to our services already being low-cost, we typically do not have any additional discounts apart from the multiple-cat discount.

Pre-Surgical Bloodwork Recommendations and Requirements:
- For all spays and neuters, your animal will undergo injectable and gas anesthetics. Any procedure that requires sedation, can be a risk.
- Pre-surgical bloodwork is recommended, but not required for most pets. Pre-surgical bloodwork may be REQUIRED if the animal is:
- 5 years of age or older
- Has certain health issues that increase risk as determined by a veterinarian
- We now have the ability to run some bloodwork in-house, and are also able to send additional tests to IDEXX Laboratories as needed.
- Please note, blood draws must be done ONE WEEK prior to scheduled surgical appointment date. This allows the results to be reviewed by our veterinarian before the surgery.
- Based on bloodwork results, our veterinarian has the right to refer your pet to a full service clinic or request repeated bloodwork.
- Bloodwork can also be performed by another veterinary clinic, but it must be done within a week of the surgery date to ensure accurate. These results must be sent and reviewed by our veterinarian prior to the appointment.
- Cats need to be a minimum of 2.5-3 pounds, and a minimum age of 8 weeks old to be spayed or neutered.
- Cats must be at least 6 weeks old to receive FVRCP vaccination and 12-16 weeks old(at the veterinarian’s discretion) for Rabies vaccination
- Dogs need to be a minimum of 6 months old to spay or neuter.
- Dogs need to be a minimum of 6 weeks old for DA2PPV vaccination and 12-16 weeks old(at the veterinarian’s discretion) for Rabies vaccination
- Microchipping and Core Vaccines are Mandatory.
- If animal is current on vaccines, please provide records from a licensed veterinarian with vaccination due dates
- Some vaccines (FVRCP, Feluk, DA2PPV, Lepto, Lyme) need boosters for full annual immunity:
- For animals who have not completed the series before, FVRCP and DA2PPV should be given in a series of 2-3 doses, typically, with 3-4 weeks in between doses. The number of doses needed for full immunity may vary depending on the age.
- Feluk, Lepto, and Lyme are given a second booster after their initial vaccine.
- Each booster is charged at regular price
- Female dogs CANNOT be in heat:
- The last day of the heat cycle must be 4 weeks prior to surgery. Alternatively, we can schedule based on the start of the heat cycle, and schedule ~7-8 weeks from that date.
- Each female dog will be examined by APE staff to verify if dog is currently in heat
- No pregnant females or those who have recently given birth.
- Spays can be scheduled for 4 weeks after the puppies have been weaned
- Dogs found to be bred, in heat, or exceptionally complicated during surgery will incur additional charges.
- Additionally, we reserve the right to refuse to spay dogs in heat or bred.
- Dogs over 75lbs may be charged additional fees
- Cost for XL dogs is $2.00 per pound over 75 pounds
- XL Female dogs may be referred to a full service clinic.
- Male dogs without both testicles descended into the scrotum:
- We reserve the right to refuse to neuter any male dog that is cryptorchid (missing a testicle in the scrotum).
- Additional charges will be applied for cryptorchid dogs that are neutered (Typically comparable with the spay price or their weight range).
